We had a really, really, really proud moment recently. Our client, The Crossing Point Cafe, won the gold award for ‘Independent Café of the Year’ at the Café Life Awards.
It was such a fantastic achievement and absolutely well-deserved, as owners John and Renata Strange have worked so hard to make the popular Kirkby Lonsdale café the very best it can be, and the award is testament to that.
But it wasn’t just winning the gold award that was amazing (even though it was pretty darn brilliant) – but The Crossing Point Café was also the only eatery in Cumbria to be shortlisted at the prestigious awards. This meant they were proudly representing the region at the awards down in London – what a fabulous achievement!
Of course, John and Renata were chuffed with the win. John said: “We are absolutely over the moon to have been awarded gold in our category. Just being nominated was such an honour, so to be recognised in this way is amazing. We were ecstatic when we heard that we had won gold, and it felt particularly special given the level of some of the cafés that we were competing against.”
Renata added: “We had such a great night at the awards ceremony and met some really lovely people. Since the news has been announced, our phones haven’t stopped with emails and messages of congratulations. We would both like to thank everyone for their amazing support and we are so proud to have represented Cumbria and helped to put it on the map as a real foodie destination!”
The story achieved excellent media coverage across the local press – both before the event and afterwards. It was also the number one most shared story on Entirely North West for Cumbria food news. Here are a few examples of the press coverage we secured…
We couldn’t be happier for John and Renata, and we’re so happy to be working with them to spread the news about just how fabulous The Crossing Point Café is!
