We love being based in the beautiful Lake District, but every now and again, it’s great to enjoy the bright lights of the big city!
On Tuesday, we bid farewell to Cumbria and headed over to Manchester for Marketing On The Menu.
Organised by Kelly Gilmour-Grassam of Making You Content and Ann Davies of BizWizUK, this was the first time Marketing On The Menu was held up north, after its success in London last year.
We were delighted to have been asked to talk at the event about the different ways in which hospitality firms can use PR campaigns and tactics to increase awareness of their brand and manage their reputation.
The event was held at the fabulous Great John Street Hotel and the guest list was a brilliant mix of food and drink brands, entrepreneurs, bloggers, restaurateurs and everything in-between. It was kindly sponsored by Nabarro Poole, The Cake Nest and Eclectic Hotel Group.
The seminar was kicked off by Luke from Webantic, who offered an interesting insight into the world of app development for food and drink brands. Then Kelly took to the stage to offer her expert content tips, broken down into digestible chunks of a starter, main course and dessert.
Straight after the break, it was our turn. Our aim was to give everyone in the room a flavour of what clever PR campaigns can do for their brands, and what the perfect ingredients for success in the press really are. It was a great opportunity to shout about PR as a marketing tactic and the impressive results that can be achieved in a creative PR campaign, compared to advertising.
Ann then closed the show by offering 10 fantastic tips that can really maximise your social media strategy. Afterwards, we all enjoyed a spot of networking and a well-deserved glass of wine!
