We’re going back to our roots with the launch of our newspaper column

Spreading the word – that’s what we’re all about at Bloomin’ Creative.

We regularly achieve column inches in a range of media for our clients and now we’ve landed a new monthly column in one of Cumbria’s biggest newspapers to spread the word about the power of clever marketing and effective communication.

Marketing Matters is our brand new column that launched last month in The Westmorland Gazette with five New Year resolutions that every small business should make when starting a marketing or PR campaign.

Writing the column and seeing the end result in print was a lovely trip down memory lane for us at Bloomin’ Creative. Both Danielle and Colette spent years as newspaper journalists before moving into the world of PR.

Call us biased, but we firmly believe that to be a truly effective PR professional, you need to have spent time on the ‘other side of the fence’ by working as a journalist. It’s a job that gives you many skills, including the ability to sniff out a good story and the know-how when it comes to getting it published in the most appropriate place.

Talking of getting things published, we’ll be exploring different aspects of marketing, communication and PR in our new column. As usual, we’re buzzing with ideas but if there’s something you’d like us to put the spotlight on, do let us know.

Meanwhile, keep an eye out for the next instalment of Marketing Matters. It’s due out later this month and we’ll be looking at how “truth is the new spin” in PR and in business.
