PR vs Advertising: the results speak for themselves…

We’re not normally ones to boast but, wow, what a superb few months of press coverage we’ve achieved for our client, SimpleTax.

As part of our PR services, we regularly send detailed PR evaluations and analysis to our clients. We do this to show the financial value of the publicity we have secured for them.

From December to February, SimpleTax, an Oldham-based accountancy software firm, has been featured in a range of publications and media platforms, including the Metro.

This mention of SimpleTax, combined with shares on social media, had the potential to reach at least 130,000 people. It also gave the SimpleTax website a strong backlink, which is important for a site’s SEO (search engine optimisation).

As well as Metro, we secured coverage in numerous titles, including Business Insider, Business Manchester, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Bdaily and Sage Advice.

We also worked in collaboration with a popular blogger, The Bloglancer, to create a comprehensive guide to self assessment for freelancers.

After our PR evaluation, we discovered more than one million people had the opportunity to read our client’s messages.

It would have taken a huge advertising budget to achieve this level of potential reach. But, with our creative PR skills, press contacts and media know-how, we got the word out for a fraction of the cost.
