Posh Noshers at the Sun Inn

I love working with my fabulous foodie clients. And Posh Noshers at the Sun Inn was a foodie’s dream.

The friendly team welcomed customers old and new from in and around Kirkby Lonsdale for an evening of wine and cheese (does it get much better than that?)

Head chef at the Sun Inn, Joe Robinson, created an exquisite menu, using the finest cheese from The Cheese Larder. And each dish was perfectly paired with a beautiful wine, supplied by EWGA Wines.

Guests enjoyed an arrival drink – a Pascali Rojo Vermouth – and an assortment of scrumptious canapés in the cosy bar area.

We then headed through to the restaurant to take our seats for the five-course tasting menu and matched wines.

Janette McLaughlin of EWGA Wines explained how each wine was carefully paired to complement each individual dish.
Each dish was introduced with interesting background information about the selected cheese, as explained by Jonathan Pearcey from The Cheese Larder in Kendal.

The Menu

Smoked whipped goats cheese, shiso, beetroot, puffed barley

Ewes curd agnolotti, black garlic, salt-baked carrot

Sticky pork cheek, apple, Garstang blue, lardo, smoked hazelnut

Lamb rump, wild garlic, whey potatoes, braised shoulder, Yorkshire pecorino, courgette

White chocolate mousse, pickled rhubarb, Yorkshire Dales cream cheese, rhubarb sugar
